Higashimurayama (東村山市)Formed as a larger village from the merger of several local villages as Higashi-Murayama in 1889. In 1942 the population had grown enough for it to be designated a town, in 1964 it was designated a city. It is bordered on the North by Saitama Prefecture. The rail lines that serve Higashimurayama are the: Seibu Shinjuku Line, Seibu Kokubunji Line, Seibu Seibuen Line, Seibu Tamako Line, and the JR Musashino Line.
